Why delete my account on Nuke-Evo.com?

Postby RottNKorpse » Fri Jan 15, 2010 10:57 am

Was I wrong? absolutely not...was I being harsh? maybe

BUT whether I was harsh or not the project is dead and that site still lets people download a dead project.

If nothing else the domain should redirect to evo-german.com , evolution-xtreme.com or to here... or maybe a hub for all 3

it's the fact that people are still using 2.0.7 and that my friend, is just irresponsible.

Yes - that is why http://www.nuke-evolution.com is the support site for this version. If Evo 2.1.0 is released we will see what happens. May be Tech decides to keep the domain and giving support for 2.1.0, may be he decides to sell the domain, may be it will be redirected to nuke-evolution.de ... who knows. Your account was deleted because of spamming the forums with "evo is dead" postings. It was not only one posting, it was a flood of postings with same content. If you think it does not worth supporting Nuke Evolution users, then you should quit in silence.

I quit a long time ago...

it't about supporting a project anymore...it is supporting a project that shouldn't be and I didn't spam much...most of my replies had that part that people shouldnt use it because it was dead sure but before that I also addressed many of the questions people asked but also added that...so way to read all of the posts other than just skimming.

You quoted me saying people still use it like thats a reason to keep the site alive...that is ridiculously wrong...there are people still joining the site to download it as of the day I posted the thread and that's just wrong. The system as far as 2.0.7 goes is dead purely dead and it should be put out of it's misery. Letting people keep downloading it and then expecting people to support those who have issues with a system that is error prone is just crazy. The main site itself has many sql errors and various other errors spread across it so thats a sign it should just be let go.

As for 2.1.0, I didn't say it was dead but Nuke-Evolution is a project that is ran on the nuke-evolution.com domain and that domain makes people download 2.0.7 not 2.1.0 from evo-german. So pretty much all I was saying is fix that and at least make the nuke-evolution.com domain redirect to something not so dead. There is no need to sell the domain...and whoever would buy that domain would be crazy sorry to say it but 2.1.0 is also a waste of time...hence why Technocrat already abandoned it. 2.1.0 has been in RC for over a year and sorry guys but that is not acceptable by anyone's terms. I'm not saying you guys don't care or that you guys are not doing what you can or even that what you are doing is bad...It's simply a waste of time. I know you guys don't want to admit it's a waste because frankly I didn't either, you can easily check my record of posts where I fought for nuke-evo to continue but I realized way before now that it has run it's course, it should just be laid to rest.

The fact is...it runs on outdated software in every way and its just a waste of time to continue it...Technocrat left it and that should be a good sign that others should as well.

I only came back to say it because it has been YEARS and pathetically no one has stepped up yet. Do I regret my decision that caused my account deletion? NOT AT ALL because if it saved one person's time and effort then that's enough. I just feel it is irresponsible and very very sad that it took until now for someone do something. I mean COME ON!

Sorry for my delay in posting on this but I haven't been around much lately. See: http://www.techn0crat.com/2010/01/where-you-been/

First off I didn't delete your account. I also didn't see your posts so I cannot say if it was justified or not. All I can do is comment on this post.

I think you and I have known each other long enough that you should have been able to come to be about this. You know how to get a hold of me. I think that would have been better than what you did. I am a little disappointed that you didn't do that.

However that doesn't take away from that fact that you are correct. Maybe your message was a bit strong but you are right. It was always my intention to do what you suggested. However I was waiting for NE 2.1.0 to become more mature. I am sure that all the German team is working as hard as they can on it but its been slow go for them. I have also been a bit of a procrastinator on it, which is my fault.

That said you really brought it home, though I wish you had gone about it differently. I plan to work out the next step.

you are right I should have came to you first but I did look around here and on nuke-evolution.com but it appeared that you weren't around anymore. You hadn't posted here since October...and December for Nuke-Evo. So I assumed you were out of action or whatever you want to call it. I know I shouldn't ever assume anything as the saying goes...(not gonna say it...you know it). So I apologize for that but just wanted to say it wasn't as if I didn't check first and just started rambling. :)

I understand and I agree I probably should have approached it in a different way...but the net result is what really matters and if the inactive project is no longer downloadable then I'm glad whether my account is deactivated or not.

Anyway, good luck with BB3vo (I don't care if you guys refuse to use that abbreviation...it's awesome so I'll keep using it.) :)
